Barry Beavis:
Barry Beavis is the Sales and Marketing Manager for Golden Thread Fire Delay. He is a senior commercial leader with over 20 years’ experience delivering consultative, solutions‑focused support across passive fire protection and the wider construction sector. He collaborated with DLUHC and Professor David Mosey CBE on the national guidance for procurement to support building safety, bringing a practical understanding of how safer, clearer procurement drives better outcomes. With a decade of specialist experience and former service on the ASFP Council, Barry is known for helping clients navigate complex fire‑safety challenges through clear communication, commercial insight and long‑term, risk‑led thinking.
Farrokh Azad:
Farrokh Azad is the Head of Fire Safety and Partner at Calfordseaden, with over 20 years of experience in the fire safety industry. A former Fire Officer in the Iranian Fire Brigade, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Protection of High-Rise Buildings and a Master’s Degree in Fire Safety Engineering. Farrokh specialises in developing fire strategies for a wide range of projects, utilising advanced engineering methods and computer modelling tools. He is committed to community engagement as a STEM ambassador and through mentorship with the Migrant Leaders Charity. At calfordseaden, Farrokh focuses on creating safer built environments and fostering vibrant communites.
Steve Rham
Steve has been in the emergency lighting industry for more than 40 years; for the past 12 years in manufacturing at P4, where he heads sales and marketing. Today’s presentation will provide an insight into industry trends in emergency lighting application, design and maintenance.
Nathaniel Thomas-Hall:
Nathaniel joined Evac+Chair’s R&D team in 2018, quickly being promoted to Head of Product Research and Development. Now Head of Group Export and Innovation, Nathaniel manages a wide team of global resellers who are committed to providing evacuation solutions for all.
Tina Jolliffe:
Tina has been in the Insurance Industry for 35 years, working in many different sectors from Fuel Industry to Life Sciences. For the last 11 years, she has concentrated on the Fire sector after working in conjunction with the Government’s Fire Kills campaign. Her clients include leading specialists and advisors to the Government on Fire Standards. Consort also works with the Fire Associations including ASFP, FIA and ISFM to help educate the Insurance market on legislation changes, implications, and applications.
Hassan Elmahdey:
Hassan is currently has over 6 years’ experience in Fire doors, starting as a fire door Surveyor, he has developed a strong foundation in fire safety standards, regulations, and best practices, gaining experience working within various environments including health, public, education, commercial and justice sectors. Taking pride in his work and attention to detail to gain an understanding of individual requirements.
Hassan currently holds a Level 2 certification in PFP from the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) and gained a Diploma in Fire Doors from the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS.) Hassan is also working on gaining his level ASFP level 3. He prides himself on his ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
Craig Wells
Craig brings over a decade of experience in passive fire protection. Since joining Quelfire, he has been instrumental in driving the company’s early engagement approach, helping clients plan and coordinate compliant firestopping from the very start of a project. His understanding of commercial pressures, regulatory demands, and on-site realities allows him to support both internal teams and empower external stakeholders with clarity and confidence. Craig speaks with passion and a genuine intent to drive cultural change to enable safer buildings for all.
Aaron Gardiner
Aaron has been in the fire protection industry for 17 years, working for several major passive fire protection manufacturers and a UKAS accredited test house. He has worked on specifications and installation details for numerous large construction projects, including The Shard, Houses of Parliament, Battersea Power Station and the Cheese Grater
Jeremy French:
Jeremy started as an apprentice at the Royal Aerospace Establishment, graduating with an HNC in Building Studies. He moved into Aero R&D with McLaren and Honda F1 teams. In 2000 he established a fire door company and in 2019 developed a fire safety consultancy practice. He is MIFireE and active in Fire Engineering, working with clients and architects at RIBA stages on external wall cladding, planning and building control approvals
Gary Watts
Gary is a risk management professional. In the past practicing as a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Fellow of the IRM and Chartered S&H Practitioner. Gary is a current member of the Association of Project Safety and a subject matter expert in the Building Safety Act. He has an interest in IT working within Microsoft 365 and supports Managing Agents
as Responsible Persons managing High Risk Buildings.
Pete Davies:
Pete has worked at Fireco for 14 years, helping customers to enhance evacuations using digital notifications. He has also worked extensively with Fireco’s range of acoustic and radio frequency hold-open devices for fire doors. With a keen understanding of relevant guidance and legislation surrounding Fireco’s products and services, Pete brings a fresh perspective on fire safety. He also sits on the Door Control Task Group.
Sarah Lewis:
Sarah specialises in sealing systems for fire door assemblies, with over 22 years’ experience in her role as Specifications Manager at Lorient. She has an FDIS Diploma in Fire Doors; GAI Diploma; and is a Registered Architectural Ironmonger.
Wesley Donlon
Wesley Donlon, Director and Founder of Bolster Systems, Wesley shapes both the organisations product and technical direction. Before founding Bolster, Wesley worked in the fire protection industry while studying Computer Science at university, giving him first-hand experience of the challenges faced on site alongside the technical skills to solve them. This combination of practical trade knowledge and software expertise is central to Bolster’s industry-led approach.
