June 28 saw the latest successful stage in spreading the word on Fire Protection with the Fire Safety and Evacuation Seminar in London.

Hosted by our partners Aviva Insurance, this was a fantastic opportunity for people with responsibility for buildings and occupants to expand their understanding of how to comply with legislation, and how preparation and planning can help save lives (as well as time and money) through engaging with specialists within the fire protection sector.

This daylong seminar drew together a wealth of experience and insight from specialists in surveying and installing, manufacturers, consultants and more in a series of informative and engaging, easily digestible presentations. The keynote address from Lee Harvey, Chair of the National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers (NAHFO), gave real insight on the practicalities and challenges for managing fire safety amid the landscape of changing demographics and legislation.

For the presenters, the opportunity for interaction with stakeholders was extremely beneficial. In a tight contest, Sarah Lewis of Lorient UK’s presentation on The Role and Performance of Fire and Smoke Seals was most highly rated based on attendee feedback, highlighting the importance to stakeholders of understanding application of products and systems in real-world scenarios.

With all the recent events and changes in Fire Safety legislation, there is no better time to keep up to date with regulations, ramifications, and responsibility, and Golden Thread Fire Delay looks forward to delivering more fire safety awareness events in the future.
