Alan Oliver gave a presentation at the NAHFO (National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers) Virtual Conference on Thursday 15th July.
The presentation title was Achieving Fire Door Compliance in Hospitals and it provided background information on the creation of the new NFCC approved ‘Fire Door Inspections in Healthcare Buildings’ Reference Document. It gave examples of why the implementation of standardised systems for inspecting fire doors in hospitals, as outlined in the document, is necessary and how their adoption is being promoted by the introduction of a complementary healthcare focussed fire door training module.
