Retirement is a significant milestone in a person’s life, a milestone that deserves to be celebrated. So, last week we gave a supportive farewell to our dedicated Credit Controller, Mick Delay, together as a team we shared lunch, laughs and many memories.
To our delight, Mick had prepared a speech for us all, in this he said:
‘Fire Delay came up with a vacancy, I was employee number 6, and what a dramatic change to today’s Golden Thread Fire Delay, business turnover high, staff numbers are high, and hopefully profits will be even higher as time goes on.
I would like to thank Sem personally for taking me on 16 years ago, he gave me a revised aim in life, which I have always enjoyed, collecting money from debtors!’
Mick joined our company, previously called Fire Delay Contractors, through an ad in the local newspaper, with a cover letter that won our Managing Director over, and with a name like ‘Mr Delay’, how could he not offer him a job? Since then, he has witnessed the rapid growth of Golden Thread Fire Delay, playing a vital role in the growth with his financial and interpersonal skills. Although this is not his first time retiring, certainly won’t be his last, as a team we wish him all the best for the future.
You will be missed Mick, thank you for the years.
